G3WOS's 6M (50MHz) Earth-Moon-Earth (EME) Log
In the winter of 2010 I spent a great deal of time building a bayed 6M antenna array based on a pair of 7-element LFA antennas to try out WSJT JT65A EME QSOs on the 6m Band.
They have proved - so far - to be very effective showing that elevation considerably reduces local noise, thus considerably improving the chances of decode. In one particular direction, local noise drops by 12dB when elevating to 45 degrees.
Moreover, elevation means that I can arrange QSOs with remote stations on their moonrise while considerably reducing the risk of television interference.
